Our Emergency Veterinary Services

Physical Examination

Our physical examination fee is $180 and is the first step in determining what treatments or diagnostic testing your pet may need. Our on-staff veterinarian uses the physical exam to evaluate your pet’s hydration status, cardiac and respiratory systems, neurological status, and abdominal palpation to feel for abnormalities. After performing a physical exam, the doctor will discuss with you their finding and formulate an estimate on the best course of action to get your pet feeling better.

Emergency Surgical Care

Common emergencies that may require minor surgery include bite wounds, skin lacerations, ophthalmic trauma, and porcupine quills. Other, more serious surgeries, such as intestinal foreign body obstruction, gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV), or a C-Section, we are equipped to handle with our knowledge and caring staff.

If your pet is in need of emergency surgery, trust that we have the team and tools to quickly treat your pet. You will have an experienced surgeon on staff, as well as a veterinary team experienced with anesthesia and ready to provide the necessary post-operative care.

Radiology

Sometimes radiographs (x-rays) are a necessary component to our diagnostic process to determine what is ailing your pet. Our on-site digital radiography equipment allows us to have images of your pet within minutes so that we may expedite their treatment, care, and get them on the road to recovery.

Anesthesia

Whether it’s for minor surgical repair or major abdominal or thoracic surgery, our highly trained staff is very knowledgeable in anesthesia and pain management. We aim to provide the most comfortable and pain-free experience for your pet, before, during, and after surgery.

In House Blood and Urine Testing

Our on-site laboratory machines need very little blood for full diagnostic panels and provide results within 20 minutes to help pinpoint what is happening with your pet. This efficient system gives us the information to provide life-saving treatment very quickly.

Euthanasia

One of the most difficult times as a pet owner is when you have to say goodbye to your best friend. We have a compassionate team that is here to counsel you through this difficult time and provide humane euthanasia to your pet. We do our best to provide you with the comfort and privacy that is so important during this difficult time.

Hospitalization and Critical Care

It may be that your pet is sick enough that they need to stay in the hospital for overnight or weekend care. We have very comfortable kennel set ups with the veterinary nurses watching over your pet the entire time they're in our care. We are fully equipped to provide whatever level of care your pet may need, including fluid therapy, oxygen therapy, pain management, and (last but not least) the same love and care they receive at home.

In some cases, it may be that your pet needs care continued from your primary veterinarian and needs to spend the night in our hospital. In these cases, your pet is transported from your veterinarian to our hospital and then picked up the next morning for transport back to your veterinarian.

Fluid Therapy

One of the most common services we perform here is re-hydration. After a physical exam and diagnostics are performed, the veterinarian will determine if your pet needs to be treated with intravenous fluids (inpatient) or subcutaneous fluids (outpatient). Most of the time rehydration is the most important and best life-saving treatment we can do, and we are equipped with all the necessary tools to get your pet back to a normal hydration status.

Toxicity Treatment

Sometimes our pets eat or get into things that are harmful. We are ready and willing to deal with any toxicity. In some cases, the expert veterinary toxicologists at Animal Poison Control Center will need to be consulted and we work one-on-one with their staff to make sure your pet is being treated accordingly. Some toxicities are less common than others and we want to make sure we are getting the most up-to-date information and treatment recommendations from this great team of experts.
